anyone using a different colored display? show it off!

i am waiting for my V2 board to arrive along with my black screen with red lettering LCD. ebay for 10 bux! thank you chinese distributors!

i chose the red lettering LCD so it will closely match my fiero gauges. it will be shown off in this thread upon completion of assembly. and then a working reading from the car once i get whatever is wrong solved.

Id like to know how it turns out. Honestly I looked at those same displays, and thought about getting one to match the gauges in my 6000 wagon. I was thinking a red reverse one would be like an alarm clock, too red for my Pontiac. So I was thinking reverse orange would be closer. But then I just went and tried the stock green one from the kit. It is hard to see in the daytime. Thankfully 90% of my driving in the wagon is at night.

Attached is the one I used in my Celebrity. It is a gray-green background, green backlight, and indigo lettering. It was a nonstandard display, with no true backlight control, but it dims some at timeout and pulses like the lights on a car with a high powered stereo. I absolutely love this display. It is just as easy to read in the brightest sun as in the dark, and everything in between.

Since I messed up the LCD that came with my kit, I went ahead and bought a blue background w/ white lettering LCD - to match my blue LCD back-lit instrument cluster - it's hard to tell in the pictures, but it really is blue

Yep thats my Celebrity. I added the Lumina APV steering wheel because it looks and drives better. Unfortunately I couldnt find a Z24 steering wheel, the color would have been perfect. I added the tach, I custom built it to look factory using parts from a 6000 cluster. I also did some surgery and added a factory looking oil pressure gauge into the right side of the cluster. I remapped all the applicable idiot lights to the left side and thats the reason for the film, it hides the chopped up idiot light lenses.

Heres the page, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/447741 . Havent done anything with it in years.

Wingmn, thats a perfect match!

woot, got mine done. the black/red lettering screen does look a bit too dark. but that can be solved with more LEDs!! just have some white LEDs facing at the screen in its project box housing.

EDIT: i just found out that the LEDs will go even brighter after the setup. i may not need more LEDs.....

That looks pretty awesome. I might have to get a new LCD soon. Let us know how it looks once it's set up, because that looks badass.
