We should be able to electrify a bug for under $13k without chopping up a trike.

Beyond the production numbers, They've attracted interest from Munro Associates and XponentialWorks. And Tilting Motor Works .
Arcimoto bought Tilting Motor Works to get their patents for leaning trikes - so they could use that front suspension on the leaning bicycle trike. Both distractions from the primary business that isn't up and running.

EV West fell out with jack Rikard and built their business on hanging a DC motor on the VW transaxle and now they use Tesla. Both suboptimal (weight and clutch lifespan in the first case, overpowered in the second). The Tesla drivetrain needs a Quaiffe differential.

Arcimoto have specced a twin motor drivetrain with limited slip and torque vectoring.

The 'primary business' is disrupting transportation. MLM furthers the goal.

Well there is the problem. Any start-up's primary business should be bringing their product to market and becoming profitable. There should be no time or budget for side projects until that happens.

You can't disrupt anything if you go bankrupt.

Speaking of disrupt, Robinhood just notified that FUV is up 5% today. That brings the disruption to my portfolio up to a -$600 loss.

I might just set a sell limit to get the money back out. It peaked at $32 and is down to pennies.

Rough numbers in the first 1/2 of the year they brought in $2 million in revenue on vehicles sold but those vehicles cost them $10 million to make and that is just costs of good sold.

Arcimoto was a target for short sellers because it was massively overvalued and out of money.

As a fallback, IIRC the RAV4 has a twin-motor rear axle.

I'm in Eugene this weekend, and it's raining cats and dogs. Not the conditions for an open sided vehicle. Oh well, I'm working and don't have time to rent one at the moment.

With 2 electric drivetrains, and maybe some space for a portable genset, could work even for some road trips, overcoming range anxiety
