*Assuming your car has a transmission that works on the same principles as the rear drive Chevrolet transmissions I am familiar with. I can't imagine it would be different assuming you have a "regular" auto with a torque converter and planetary gearset

To rekindle my auto love here - can I assume that if I move the shifter to N when coasting and the engine is idling that I should be ok ? Can I also assume it is OK to shift from N to D at low speeds ?
