The only rigorous comparison test between cold and warm air intake I can find didn't show an advantage for warm air intake.

He did an excellent job with it. I wish we had more data like that to compare the effect of warm and cold air intakes.
Autospeed has a big following here. Maybe we should ask them to do a story on the subject.

Not only was that a 20 mpg car, that was a 20 mpg, 4100 pound car with a 400 cid engine!
Maybe I should try that on my 69 Cutlass although I might install a 200R4 trans instead of trying to find 2.41 gears. The camshaft would be an easy swap

So do I. Others here have claimed measurable results with WAI. Which is why I say it likely comes down to differences in the way various cars' computers are set up to respond to the temperatures.

Despite not seeing any results in my own test, I still have the WAI on my car because it'll still help warm the intake more quickly.

Do it!

The WAI is actually a common mod on the Insight. Though not as much for reduced pumping losses, but because IAT is tied to lean burn in that car. The WAI permits lean burn at lower ambient temps than without.

Just curious could this mod be used to force the insight to start off the large battery at lower temperatures? (aka an intermittant switch to make the car think its warm, turn over then disengage.)

My car has had all the grounds replaced twice and still just clicks when trying to start off 12v, I was hoping to find a better way around this issue.

Thanx
Ryan
