AX 1,4 Diesel 100 mpg Project

Hello Ecomodders
I have found this Forum , looking the Themes of Hypermiler AX , i have seen on Spritmonitor . his works at the ax was very inspiring and helpfull for me .
now my own thread about my Citroen AX 100MPG Ecoproject .
I Know that is not easy to realize , but it´s not Impossible . I have so many ideas , dont know if its all good but we will see .
the actually consumption for the last 1400 Km was 3,53 Liter per 100 Km .

The Car is my mileeating rolling Project . so at first the smaller modifications .

for Parts i have 2 other ax1,4 Diesel :

The first Modifications were , a lighter Right Foot of the Driver , removing Antenna :

Roof Spoiler from the GT Model :

Mirrors from a yamaha fzr1000 :

one of the next modifications will be the lowering springs and Gasshocks :

also i am searching for Cheap 145/80-13 Michelins from Opel Corsa , they are 1,3% bigger in Diameter than the original 155/70-13 .
The 5th Gear ratio like Hypermiler AX has , i have ordered , hope that i can install it soon .

and when my ordered PWM comes , i will take a hho cell for testing the consumption . friends of me have reductions of consumption by tdi´s up to 25%
that are the Mods in the nearer Time .
Later will follow Ligtweighting of the Car and some greater Modifications that i will explain later , the Driver must reduce 10-15 Kilos too

Sorry for my bad english , its not my homelanguage .
Here a link to my german diary : Das 100 MPG Projekt
kind regards Rd.

Welcome, rubberduck. Looks like a good project. I wish we had the assortment of small diesels in America that you do.

+1 on that 10-15 kilo mod you mentioned. I need to do the same. And your English is plenty good enough. Wayyyyyyy better than my deutsche.

Welcome to the forums! It looks like you have a nice little car for hypermiling and sounds like you are on the right track, except HHO is proven to be false.

If you search the Ecomodder website and read about HHO, you will find many examples.

As for the driver 10-15 kilo weight reduction, you will find you get many more miles out of him as well
Take it from someone who lost ~20

Anyway welcome, and don't worry too much over your English. You seem to do quite well, and everyone here is friendly and understanding.

Hello and Thanks for the Welcome .
well Right the driver lost since January 14 Kilos , but his weigth is today 15% from the Car , thats a little bit too much

About HHO we will see the facts if i install it and drive some weeks . our experience is different , Older Cars with lower efficiency runs better and with higher mileage . newer Cars have often Problems with it , the Motormanagement in stock cant work with it . so can the cars losing Fuel mileage .
but there are more complicated Ideas to solve.
The Standard Ways i must drive are much uphill downhill real much braking , there is a idea to build a mild hybrid from the car with a 3 or 4 kw electric motor that can recuperate break energy and at the other side help the machine to accelerate or drive some Miles only with Electric Power . i think it´s possible with low budget and some workpower .

Hallo NachtRitter herzlichen Gruß auch nach Kalifornien . :-)
i have read the 100+ Tipps and practice some of it . only the Scangauge i cant do in this Car m because no OBD2 , no Electronics .
Some Ways ich can Pulse , some ways downhill roll with motor off . ist like a Game to lower consumption . but not easy everyday . the Car ist the Daliydriver and some Kilometers with Wife , 3 Kids and full baggage .
now will make the lowering sprins and wheelbearings new , them see how it roll .
kind regards , die Gummiente

What's up?

Did you already lowered your AX? I'm interested in doing this mod. What type of springs did you choose? Short springs exist but I heard that the car could be too low with the heavy cast iron diesel engine. Someone got -90 mm with -45 mm springs installed on his 1.5D.

Hi Hypermiler AX
No i havent lowered it , there was no Time for build anything , only Time für family , job and driving much Kilometers .
My springs are from H&R -45mm . i think with the Ironcast machines more lowering .
i´ve seen your last consumption at Spritmonitor . very Nice
my Ax will stay in the garage for the coming winter , there are much things to repair and modifie
the Gearbox makes some Problems and must be rebuild or changed . The Clutchbearing must also be changed . and many other works .
by the way , what do you think about the Peugeot 206 1,4 hdi ?
kind regards Rubberduck
