trip cancelled until further notice
*The T-100 has mechanical issues which can't be addressed in time.Which prevents me from doing truck mods.
*To de-rake the truck,I'm losing the oversize rears. But I need a full set of new tires.
*Time and cash required forbid travel anytime soon.
*Parts aren't ever in stock and vendors aren't notifying me when they finally do come in.
*The Insight has pretty much ruined my back, push starting it every time I need to restart it in town.
*DARKO is cool with everything, they say, just call when ready,'n they'll look at their calendar to see for scheduling.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
*I'll just keep inching ahead and get there when I get there.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Gumby 79 needs to know,as he was gonna try to meet up at the tunnel.I asked for a PM many weeks ago so I could be in touch by phone but never got a response. If any of you know him please pass the news.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, for the second time,I apologize for all the logistical trouble and inconvenience.

OTOH it works for me.
I didn't even go see if that axle is still there. Maybe by the time you reschedule, I'll have turned those 10" wheels and aluminum tubes into an art car.
Your back comes first. Don't you have a Ghia or something?

Some times the noses just fall off despite the best made planns . Look at the Sphinx...I'll spend time with family and maby go talkto them at DARCO. sometimes seeing the real thing in person helps with perspective. And try to figure out what the margin of error wr will create by excessive %tunnel blockage.
Dreem big chisel down to reality
And

Actually, the original lion's nose was vandalized by Thutmos IV:

Then Napolean dropped by and defaced that.

Everything else is dead except the Insight and it's destroyed two 12-V batteries since April.I lost it's spare yesterday. It was @ 100% charge before I turned the key and as soon as I turned the key,it dropped a cell, leaving it at 10.5V.
Today I chose to drive the truck with marginal brakes, over the Insight with non-existent re-start capabilities.I'm taking the day off from mechanics.
I did lose the oversize Bridestones on the rear, and put the worn out, regular sized Hankooks back on.I'll be replacing all 4-tires. This will get it's tail back down where it belongs.
McLaren says the rake is good for aero, but they provide no evidence, and other testing has shown extreme sensitivity to drag, based on body inclination for other vehicles.

Gary Eaker,of A2 and Aerodyne Wind tunnel fame, was the consultant for Layne's design of the DARKO tunnel.
Gary has told Layne that the full-size pickups have enough frontal area to fall outside the scope for reliable data capability.
The T-100 is pushing things at 29-sq ft.
Layne is certain that the smoke flow will be meaningful and we ought to see a drag trend when altering mods on the Dodge, but Gary has warned us to take the absolute drag values with a grain of salt.

Am I understanding correct?
1)
If there's no change in frontal aera the a-b comparison will both be skued the same amount? Making the % of change an acaccurate a-b test. But the actual CdA # would be illegitimate.
Eg. Leave the Headache Rack on for ab cap test (the red part ) because it adds 15*2" of surface. 114*2" aera.79*2'
This shot is from a slightly elevated angle making the increase look larger. The lower bar is below the cab . Ecept in the center its 1/2"T ×6" W above. With ~ 7°pinch for & aft . The 3"W ×1/8"T is dead flat to the air.
The plan is for this to have an air curtain affect. To settle the disturbance from the cab/ cap gap. A less functional more aerodynamic design, has been suggested by many people , would be to eliminate this cab protection feature.
2)the Dodge advertised CdA (have you beenable to locate one yet?not me )compaired to the DARCO naked. Would this yield a value to the amount of skue?
I think the anwser is :
A) there is a variant from tunnel to tunnel so not comparable
3)
The removal of the headache rack (red part ) would alter the %of blockage resulting in a different skue ? A naked test could not be compaired to a headache rack test(different Aera/skue)?

Let me try to make this on-topic.
On Saturday BRING had a 50%-off-everything sale and, among other things, I picked up two more wakeboard control arms, including the one that's 8ft long. I partially dismantled it and lashed it to the roof rack and bike rack. long enough to take some pictures. Their both now dismantlated down to the curved tubes.
It needs to set about 4" lower. Thinking about how to grip the external drip rail and transition to a round tube, I'm currently onto taking a piece of bicycle inner-tube and stretching it into the shape I need and injecting JB Weld into it to solidify the shape with a bonus rubber coating.
I have six in total and a plan that involves tabs in slots. So what I'm saying is if it takes a while to regroup and reschedule, that's good for me.
