update

So it looks like Spring before Gumby79 and I can pull the trigger on DARKO.
The weather has severely shortened the number of days each week that I can work at all,and the days I can allow only a few hours to do anything.
Mountain passes are already being slammed with snow. There's no reason to risk anything.
I'm making slow progress and will keep at it until I'm 'ready',and only then, check with Gumby and DARKO to see about scheduling.
I have zero confidence that I'll ever be able to adequately predict how long it will take to fabricate anything!

My best move would be to put the 1302 up on blocks and save the insurance costs, so I know it will be running when that time comes.

After the black ice incident, it looks like the proximate cause was the steering gearbox was rusted solid. Gee, I wonder when that happened. It's getting 'sticky' again.

yes, some wind tunnel models are finished in black primer and wet-sanded to a smooth finish so as to increase contrast of smoke filaments. The sanded surface has no more friction drag than glass.
I sure like the white paint though.

l'il update

I completed construction of the second hood blister extension yesterday and got it Bondo'd ,just ahead of the rain.
I'll have to wait on dry weather to resume work.
The 'Viper' windshield is 'done'.I may paint it.Maybe not,I don't think the air will care.
The Insight is finicky, requiring multiple battery charging before she'll finally crank some days. Her Trip-B readout is up to 43.4 mpg as a non-hybrid.OPEC has just valved off a bunch of production, shooting the price of oil up again.
Even with the 'car trouble',the Insight is a welcome addition.

Flat black for testing, then you can top-coat it with pearlescent flip-flop Plastidip before it goes on a pedestal in the yard?

checkin' in

The hard freeze has passed and starting tomorrow,I may get 3-days of production in.Which will allow me to pull everything off the front of Spirit, and get under the hood with the new distributor.
I've had hundreds and hundreds of hours to look at what Kamm concentrated on,which he referred to as 'Verj'u'ngungsverh'a'lnisses',which has to do with the aspect ratio of a car's aft-body, when viewed in side elevation.
In 42-years,it's only now that I'm getting time to dwell on it.It makes the crummy weather easier to take.

I'm holding out for a cerebral interface which connects me to a 5-axis milling machine, where I can just 'think' manufacturing and it makes it so!
