More for heat management
I just pulled the trigger and bought this office-window tint to experiment with windshield clear tinting. I got 3 foot by 14 foot. Excess will be used on my southern exposure house windows. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P009N58..._t1_B00Q781MOC

Yes. I will. Considering buying a UV meter too. Need it to be cheap, like this one:

I look forward to hearing about this. I like the idea of reducing heating, but I don't like the idea of reducing visible light through the windows much at all.

First look at the "windshield" tint
I got home from work and stole a chance before prepping dinner to test the architectural tint, quick and dirty. It seems pretty clear. Few photos because I am alone and it is hard to hold the tint and the camera. I don't want to needlessly crease the tint or get it dirty.
I tested of the amount of light that gets through using the light sensor on my tablet and an app that measures LUX. It provided odd results. What do you think? It showed about 45,000 without tint over the windshield and 32,000 with tint stretched over. It showed about the same numbers holding the sensor inside the car and then outside the car (held at the same angel, moving between the two repeatedly and waiting for the reading to “settle”). That is about 71% transmisivity but remember that is with the release liner still on the film. But the film seems to have no added visible light reductions? I must have done something wrong. Or my device is not up to the job. Or both.
I also tested the color shift and took a photo for reference. I will edit this post in a moment when I post the photo from my tablet.
EDIT: above is no tint, and bottom is tint.

Yes. Just below the roofline on that duplex you can see a slightly darker blue shift. Or at least that is what I see in the photo.

If the code is p0420 simply run a post cat oxygen sensor spacer. The p0420 is the rear oxygen sensor detecting either too much air flow or too little air flow
Considering you would want to superheat your exhaust to run leaner, you can safely assume at your mileage that since you are not suffering from loss of power, that the catalytic converter material has broken internally.
So get on amazon and run the low profile oxygen sensor spacer to eliminate the code.
