What do you propose? High IQ nations are already below replacement level, but other cultures are driving overpopulation as tool of asymmetrical warfare with, shall we say, religious fervor.

Yeah, you're right. I got Facepalm and Utube mixed up.
Let's blame tools for our problems rather than root causes.

Nothing is sustainable, and everything comes at a trade-off. If the human population had never exceeded 500 million, we wouldn't have achieved the levels of technology and scientific understanding we now enjoy, not that that's necessarily a bad thing.
Why 500 million, rather than more or less?

It's hard to know what to try first. They're all smartphone addicts, maybe that's the vector.

Brazil is fighting food waste and hunger
I do not know about this source and when I looked for a better one I only found other unfamiliar sites, but this article says they are taking food that is about to expire, turning it into pellets called "Dog food" and offering it to anyone that does not feel like starving today: Dystopian school dinners: Brazilian city to feed poor pupils pellets nicknamed

We'll be using gene selection in the future to design in desirable traits (and avoid undesirable ones). It's inevitable, but there will be much angry and perhaps some violent opposition until finally it's the norm. It's unavoidable, just as cutting weight for wrestling matches, or doping in the Tour de France. Competition drives these things, and if you don't jump on board, you get left behind to be irrelevant.
Secondly, with medicine now able to mitigate a myriad of health issues, there is little Darwinian selection at play. Without designer babies, we'll all have a laundry list of health problems with expensive therapies to cope with them.
Finally, with the ever increasing destructive power of the individual through advancing technology, it's very likely for an individual to easily possess devastating power. If we don't come up with solutions for mental illness (perhaps through genetic means), someone unsettled about their demonitized fitness videos will eliminate a continent or worse.
Maybe we'll design babies with less pointy teeth, multiple stomachs, and cud chewing behavior.

In the end it was not approved. Initially the intention was to distribute it to the homeless, but then after human rights groups started whining about it the plan B was to incorporate it in school meals. But anyway, I don't know why there is a need to make it look unappealing, since the visual aspect is nearly as important as the flavor and the smell of food.

Expiring food is mostly a myth. Food is generally safe to eat, it's just that the taste degrades.
Most all of the food I ate in prison was expired. On Christmas day I was delighted to eat a Häagen-Dazs ice cream. It was 3 months expired, but a very nice treat compared to the expired "beef" stroganoff we seemed to constantly consume.
Dignity is not handed out, it is taken and earned.

I, for one, appreciate your twisted outlook on life.
