I saw a handful of compact cars with trailers today, such as a Renault Clio Symbol (rebadged as Nissan Platina in Mexico).

the second axle is not needed on the tractor, but I do have a friend with a single axle truck with sleeper pulling a 5th wheel toyhauler. I did some work on the sleeper for him. It sure beats the typical overloaded SRW truck.

If you take all the emissions crap off that diesel and run a performance/economy tune you can just about double your fuel mileage.

I remember his posts. I believe there's another guy on here as well who get astounding mileage.
From driving around and watching the instant mpg readings, 25mpg would seem reasonable and easily doable if you stayed off the freeway. But so far in the 10 days and 2 tanks I've put through it have been 90% 70-80mph, 30mi one way commutes. First tank was 15.3mpg, 2nd was 16mpg. At absolute worst, my mileage is going to be equal to the Silverado 4.8L it replaced. We'll see what happens once the engines broken in and I re-learn my shifting...
