In my town pickup trucks outnumber cars by a good margin and most of them are too nice to actually be used for work. They are big gas guzzling cars used to drive to work and wander around while maintaining the cultural "manliness" appearance.

I've heard all the "I need to haul x/y/z" or " What if I need to do x/y/z" excuses, but one guy flat out told me "Cars are for women, trucks are for men."

Working in a HD truck shop, I get asked from time to time: "When are you finally going to get a pickup?"
WHY?
They don't know me at all - ironic, as I pull up in my 30 [peak] horsepower home made electric car.

Yes, HD being heavy duty, as in Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner, etc.

Many folks who think this way may eventually know it's not accurate, but are too afraid to be a real man and get what works for them instead of acting like a peacock to impress other people...
