What is the benefit to those who don't live in DEQ counties? I kinda like paying a trivial fee every 2 years to register a vehicle compared to anything else that takes more effort or costs more.
Maybe I could pay a lot less on my Acura since I only put about 1,000 miles on it per year.

OBDII mandatory? I'm still making payments on a car with OBDI!

FYI
Texas already has too many out of state people. If you come from California, Oregon, Washington state, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, New Mexico, New York, Vermont, NH, Colorado, and Tax asschutits please leave behind your voting record and behavior, we already have enough morons here.

I've only ever voted for a Republican for POTUS. Should I leave behind that record and behavior?

From Texas Oregon probably looks like Portland and the UofO campus.

Considering arbitrary groups have more deviation (variation) between individual members than between other arbitrary groups, it suggests the proper level of analysis is at the individual level, not the group level.

The benefit is more money for ODOT and a more equitable funding of our roads where all road users contribute.
Today enrolling in OReGO is voluntary and gets you a discount on registration fees. With OReGO the registration fee is $86. Without OReGO it is:
$122 for vehicle rated 0-19 mpg
$132 for vehicles rated 20 to 39 mpg
$152 for vehicles rated over 40 mpg
$306 for electric vehicles.
If I'm remembering the meeting discussion correctly the plan is to require enrollment in OReGO for EVs and vehicles rated over 40 mpg starting with model year 2023
(MPG ratings are EPA combined)

OBDII is mandatory to do DEQ remotely. It is not required to enroll in OReGO. You can do the OBDII dongle or manual record keeping. If you go with manual records it is just based on odometer reading. With the OBDII dongle you are only billed for miles within the state of Oregon on public roads.

You will be happy to know my wife and I are shopping for a new state and Texas is on the short list. We are looking for a no income tax state as we will be retired and won't actually be living in the state. Washington, Nevada, and Texas are on the short list. We are leaning towards Nevada or Texas as we want our vote to actually count.
We are independents so our vote is up for grabs based on the candidates. We both split our tickets in the last two elections.

No income, no problem.

I understand the logic, but that looks regressive.
