Traditionally, for me with a 36hp, it was number #3.

On a 36 the oil cooler caused the #3 problem, on a clean air dual port they moved the oil cooler and ducted it better. Only thing I could think of is a fan induced vortex from the "improved" cooling system. Desert tin didn't help but hood spacers did

Ping Xiist?

I'd hold out for Black Friday deals if a replacement laptop is needed. Last year Costco had a deal for the latest gen (10th) i5 HP laptop for ~$270.

Knowing of Xist, possibly both concurrently with a long tale of woe.

It is possible to be both, the USAF killed me during a station transfer, I became AWOL when they wouldn't allow me to sign in because I was dead and exceeded my leave accrual even though I was on base and billeted in airman quarters. Had to be ressurected by the base chaplin.

If he's has no working browsers/ data connection there won't be a conversation.

That looks a lot like #3 on their list, except a newer processor, full HD screen, and adequate hard drive. It is also M.2, which is a nice bonus, while the worse one is $459 on Amazon!

I looked a their Prime deals, but the cheapest laptop that I saw was $800. I am sure that I would absolutely love it, but I will take Saving Money for $500, Alex!

It asked me to donate to St. Jude:
Quote:
$2 donations can provide IV bags for patients undergoing treatment.
$5 donations can provide thermometers and snack bags for families.
$10 donations can provide new toys for play areas and housing facilities.
I am sure that that just explains how far your money would go, while your money would be used the same regardless, but the larger donations are bonuses while the cheaper one is potentially life-saving.

$316.79 shipped and allegedly it will be here tomorrow!

I spent hours researching and you handed me something better and cheaper. Hitting the thanks button is wholly inadequate. I don't have gift baskets handy like Sheldon did, but I am donating $25, which should give someone a warm fuzzy.

I try to make informed decisions, but I also try to make things happen. The $300 i5 laptop is clearly a good deal, but I already forgot about the $270 i5?

So far the cheapest i5 that I have found is:
Dell Inspiron 15.6″ Touch-Screen Laptop, Intel Core i5, 8GB Ram, 256GB SSD $349.99 from Best Buy

They also had a 17.3" HP laptop with otherwise similar specs for the same price.

One i5 was on sale for $1,910!

That Costco laptop had the Ryzen 5 and a 512 GB SSD for $500. The first list of Costco Black Friday deals that I saw showed 8, between $70 and $500 off of computers between $200 and $1,800, for 10.77 - 33.33% off. That indicates they will likely offer it between $333.35 and $446.15.

At what price is a Ryzen 5 with a larger SSD and a 4-year warranty with that credit card a better deal than an i3 for $300?

Never. It's what happens when you disappear from your thread.

I suppose you can't top Piotrsko's story.
