Nah, don't plan on it at this point. I'll work on it several evenings this week, and hopefully I can keep my schedule clear next Friday and Saturday(Note to self; have conversation with Wife...).
I'm hoping that I'll have it to the point that all you'll have to help me out with is wiring up the rear view camera, the tail lights, and (if we have time) a set of new pizza pans. Something to keep us busy while we wait for Jethro to roll into town.

The cool thing is that removing the roof racks will have a triple bonus effect:
1) reduced frontal area
2) improved Cd
3) less turbulent airflow getting to the t'ailer, meaning it'll work even better!

PS: I'll probably make a similar tail for the Insight (hitch mounted), but for added mounting rigidity, I'll incorporate one or two nylon straps that will run to the top of the hatch to cinch things up tight.

Then I might head down on Monday as well, Google gives me a 4 hr route, hyper milled its a 5 hour trip, P&G (I want to try it ) its a ~6 hr trip so I might show up around 12 or a bit later.

Don't expect me before noon. I'll call ahead with updates and I'll let you know where I stop on Sunday night. Hopefully somewhere with internet .
I think the t'ailer is a great idea and would be much more popular than the full tail. A tad more mainstream, if you will .

Ugh, not really. I got the upper sides on and the rear hatch opening cut out. I stopped by the RV surplus place and picked up some more aluminum angle, in case I need to add some internal bracing. But I've talked myself out of it, hoping that the final top piece will provide the monocoque stiffness that I'm shooting for.
It's getting less and less like summer around here. Must. Complete. Project.
