Madison: Obviously, no car can lift off the ground at 55 MPH. Also, that's only small highway speeds. Most multilane highways are at 65, and some freeways are listed at 70.

Aerodynamic lift reduces the traction avaliable to the tires, and in the event of an emergency (freeway-speed swerving or hard braking), high degrees of lift can cause your tires to lose traction, making you lose control. Unless you're an idiot, you should know that.

All of you who've experienced traction loss due to aerodynamic lift, raise your hands.

Anyone who has locked their brakes on the highway is included in that poll. Higher lift means increased braking distances due to decreased traction.
