I keep trying to work on other projects, like the wheelchair ramp for Mom's friend, except after I pulled a stump that wasn't in the way, it snowed twice, the friend was hospitalized twice, and other stuff came up, when I announced that I was going to work on it after work, Mom fired me, and the friend died before the guy that was supposed to do it even started on it.

Now I am trying to move the shed so that I can put in insulation and drywall before anything happen to them sitting outside, although I have plastic over them, but while everyone wants to use an array of sharpened rebar to anchor a winch, I have been talking about fixing my Civic so I can park it in back, and use it as an anchor.

I keep pulling my 16-pound, 6' digging bar out of the ground. Certainly the same thing would happen with sharpened rebar, and if they come flying, they would fly in the general direction of the poor soul working the winch--me.

Unfortunately, the last time that I removed the heater core I left the parts on the front porch, out of the way.

I can only find one screw. I am sure that someone kicked the other two down the crack between the sidewalk and the house.

How do I get them out?!

How do I order replacement screws?!

I could probably find adequate ones from Ace, but I just took a coronavirus test yesterday. I feel obligated to wait for my results. However...

I feel fine. I think I'll go for a walk. I feel happy... I feel happy.

It has been 3 years and 5 months since I blew the head gasket. USAA is charging me $228.61 every 6 months, so I have paid $1,562.17 to insure a nonrunning car.

Huh.

I kept saying that I need to fix the car and then start my own agency, but I got hired on at a second agency, which pays better than the first. I haven't started yet, but I was scheduled to see a client in-person (an hour away) one week after I submitted the paperwork.

The usual timeline is 3 months!

They said it took them a year to open their agency, so there doesn't seem like a good ROI in starting my own, since I didn't know that I would be able to find any clients on my own.

I have been trying to fix up my Accord. I need to go back out with a hammer and a pretty little dolly, then duck in and out hundreds of times trying to fix the roof dents.

I can have a primed bumper delivered for under $100, but this set of matching paint, primer, and clear coat is $59 for 10-12-ounce cans--and you need 3! https://smile.amazon.com/ERA-Paints-...dp/B07L3N94XV?

This has a gallon of each, but I would need to buy a sprayer, and it is $440: https://smile.amazon.com/TouchupXS-H...dp/B08K7PNMVN/

Would I rather spend $440 to repaint both bumpers and touch up the car or $100 to Rustoleum everything?

I haven't found color-matched paint for less--just more, without primer or clearcoat.

I can order a painted--and folded--bumper for $300 or a painted and unfolded one for $600.

None of these are good options!

I need to call a Honda parts department and special-order those little screws so I can put my Civic together.

I bought a smaller plastic welder and patched the Accord bumper again. I haven't had a chance to sand it, but hopefully I did it right this time!

I was going to work on that when apparently I hit something on the highway and ripped the splash shields under my Camry.

I pulled that this morning so I could go to the VA. I am going to repair it and reinstall.

The difficult material I needed to acid-wash my Accord cat came in, so I need to get the easy materials and acid-wash it.

I am going to treat the current and the old one.

I feel you pain. I've got three cars [minimally] insured through USAA. Two of them have expired plates. Each month I hope to get the tags renewed, but each month USAA takes a $109 bite.

Is there a reason you guys insure unused cars? I only pay for 3/6 cars I have. I'm about to drop one of them though. They have just been sitting while I get project money accrued.

I, for one, keep telling myself that I am going to fix and then drive it tomorrow, but collision doesn't do anything for parked cars, does it?

Oh boy!

M_a_t_t -- The Superbeetle is streetable but I can only drive one at a time. The Dasher is on the insurance so I can sell it, but that process is hung up.

All my parking is gridlocked but once the Superbeetle is in the carport it goes into hiatus. I think that today I will take the Dasher off and tell people they can only test drive within the park.

I don't turn coverage on and off, because I've had insurance companies not step up when they should have.

That's no good!

I had comprehensive insurance on the rental that I scraped, but USAA told Enterprise that I wasn't covered.

I don't know how that worked out, but I didn't hear about it again.

When I was in college I had a 1952 Ford Fairlane (2-door hardtop, cream over light blue) that was totaled while it was parked in the street in front of my parent's house. By a sailor on leave.

My Allstate insurance agent dragged his feet until the sailor returned to duty, and then I was SOL.
