New mexico

California. I should have saved a picture from 2 months ago it was all fire you couldn't even see the state at all. This is a huge improvement. There were 2,000 fires burning in that view back in July and August. Not all, but a large portion were in California.

It's pretty obvious who has the problem.
I rest my case.
Your case is weak. I was working on a longer reply and lost it. But it's not needed- the following is good enough:

NIFC reports that as of Oct. 19 there have been 46,148 wildfires that have burned 8,404,047 acres this year. This is approximately 2.1 million more acres burned than the 10-year average. They also stated that this year’s fires are above the total number of fires over the 10-year-average. As of Oct. 19, the majority of fires in the 9 states are burning in National Forests or National Parks (53 fires in 33 parks or forests totaling 3,709,056 acres) and are under the control of the United States Forest Service or are burning in National Parks (five fires in four parks totaling 15,715 acres) and are under the control of the National Park Service. This includes all fires in Washington State, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona and Montana. Some of the other fires are controlled by states, the Bureau of Land Management or the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

"A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a deafening silence and a mournful optimist." Wordnik

The better formulation: antifascist communism. Best not to feed the... you know.

Your case is based on the simplistic analysis "There are more wildfires in CA than NM." The NM map shows the fires are in the mountains. I bet there are more mountains in CA than NM. More mountains = more wildfires.

Similarly, much of CA's air quality problems stem from the fact that it has a large population and a large economy.

You also said "NM does it right." Let's hear what NM is doing that's made the supposed difference.

I rested my case. Ball is in your court.
The screen shots tell everyone everything they need to know and that's where I'm going to leave it.

Instead of steering this thread off-topic the way you want to, maybe start a new one?
