"Green" products are not going to save the world or reduce emissions. Humans have to be taught how to use the things we have in this world more efficiently. Just my opinion anyway.
Ha! I'm not the only one that has noticed this!

Err... Just who are you calling "us"?

Personally, I've almost always been pretty confident in my own innate superiority, so much so that I've never felt the need for an expensive car to demonstrate it :-)

Efficient use might stretch things out a few more months societally. Maybe a few years. I wouldn't lay money on it, but I would want to get my costs as low as possible. Selling the suburban house makes a lot more sense than a Prius in a 70-mile daily commute. Even if it is a money-loser at the outset. A world without gasoline (easily, cheaply available) is what to bet upon. May not happen, or may happen with adjustments. But the fewer of those, the better. CYA.

So a car that is affordable in all respects (common parts, tire size, etc) makes more sense to me.

If I was a young guy today . . and it got me laid . . I'd have recycled condoms if that was "the thing". The rest is fluff.

And why, specifically, was this thread started? Navel-Gazing 101 class?

.

My Fiesta's average mileage so far is about 1-2 MPG less than my brothers Prius.

I think slowmover said it all. In life, it's all about two things: how to get paid, and how to get laid.

We're in the phase where eco friendliness is hot 'n trendy.

"Hey baby, let me pick you up in my plug-in hybrid, take you out for a vegan dinner and listen to some eco folk music."

"Let's go back to my place and check out my big windmill."

"I love a man/woman who can make their own biofuel!"

Don't we all? Now if we could just find a way to capture and utilize farts, we could be tapping a universal and unused resource of fuel (namely methane). Let's do it before the Green Police start monitoring our backsides and handing out summonses for polluting the environment.

That sounds like you've been hanging out at a coffee bar lately.
Was that a transcript ? Sounds about right.

Slowmover, you should sell those recycled condoms. "Hey baby, this used to be a tire on a truck. "

Putting down beer and hitting post before I keep typing and regret it in the morning, its late.
