Got a couple inches of snow in the mountains this weekend, so yesterday I took my dogs up for a hike in it. Parked at the start of the trail, and there's a big SUV parked there idling away with nobody in it (unless they were laying down. So we go hike for a couple of hours, come back, and the same SUV is still there idling.
Bet they complain about the price of gas, too.

Ha! The diametric opposite of when I went to a burger joint in late summer, an SUV was already there in the lot idling away, presumably to run the a/c? (It wasn't that hot that day). Anyway, I'm able to go in, figure out what I want, order, wait, eat at a leisurely pace while reading the paper, and leave to same goddamn stupid thing sitting there idling.

At college today. There is a crosswalk with a push button light. This crosswalk is about 600 feet from an busy, lighted intersection without a crosswalk. I arrived at the crosswalk just after a group of students had crossed, and the don't walk light was lit for me. Rather than pushing the button right away I usually wait until there is a break in traffic. I hate making a bunch of cars stop for me when I know it will be clear in just a few seconds. The light down the street was red and there were five cars coming toward the crosswalk. After those cars, I would be able to cross without interrupting traffic. Some girl walks up pushes the button and the light goes red catching all five cars.
I guess not everyone is interested in efficiency over their own convenience.

Bought some real, directional Firestone snow tires, and had them studded (I like the sparks they make on pavement). Everyone I talk to says" they don't make studded snow tires anymore" , or " they are illegal". Answer: yes they do, if you will pay $20.00 extra each, and yes they are, from November 1 until March 31 here in Missouri.

Here's a new one, for me at least.
Freak October blizzards that dump 14+ inches of wet, heavy snow onto a bunch of trees and shrubbery still decorated with those nice brightly colored *autumn* leaves. We were without power for 7-1/2 days, and the yard still looks like a tornado went through despite 2 full weekends' worth of cleanup. Not to mention the huge tree that fell across the fishpond and appears to have left my little guys in a state of permanent apoplexy.

Not sure if this is an annoyance or a smile for cheekness.
1. Your fence is felled by gale force winds, so you decide to leave it as it is leaning on your neighbour's plants. These are the same neighbours who didn't pay their half of the fence cost the last time and also moaned a lot about the trees the fence replaced. You know, the fence you paid for.
2. And then finding a leaflet for a local fence company pushed through the letterbox, just after which your neighbour skulked down your drive.
Oh no you don't, you cheapskate - I paid for it last time and its now your plants it is squashing... Grrrrrrr

I've missed you guys. Was forced to move. It has kept me very busy the last 3 weeks.
2 days ago, my laptop was killed by a PU truck. Had to buy a new one, trouble getting my
Sprint phone to tether to the new one... all in good time!

Please don't take my Lord's name in vain again.
Take Buddah's name in vain if you have an inclination to curse.

How do you know Buddah isn't my god, why is it OK to use him in a curse and not the other one ?
