Almost meeting people the hard way who do not understand intersections!

Yesterday while riding my motorcycle SLOWLY wearing my bright green vest on a perfect sunny day, I approached a 3 way intersection (no road to my right).
The other 2 roads have stopsigns. Mine doesn't which is somewhat confusing.
I approached, put my turn signal on for a left turn, and was starting to make the turn when 2 women in a Suburban started to pull out from the oncoming road/stopsign right at me!! Thankfully I was crawling, and she found her brake pedal!
I had'nt turned even 10 degrees at this point. I held my left hand glove in an underhand lift way saying "What in the world are you doing"?
The signal I got back was "I stopped at the stopsign. What do you want"?

On her road posted under the stopsign is white sign/black letters that state the the oncoming traffic DOES NOT STOP!

I can't believe because of the time of day, that these were strangers or first time visitors to that intersection.

I think they were gabbing so much that they didn't perceive how already close I was, thinking they had a big enough lead, for me turn after them.

Elimination of their stopsign would only make things worse as their approach is last minute (second) blind rise up to there, and just beyound their crossing straight through the intersection is a grade school to the right.

Speeds here need to be slow. The oncoming sign is obviously there because of past problems.

I think it would be safer w 3 stopsigns, though my mpg. does want that, and a stoplight would be safer yet, but money probably wouldn't filter in that direction until someone gets killed.

Even the 3 way stop idea is rough because most of the traffic comes from the direction I came from, tempting the before mentioned oncoming traffic to try to race out jumping a gap when their patience runs out.

It just seems like a no win situation for ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that was in India ?
anyways, it is SUPER horrible !!

on to my own annoyance of the day....
scenario: 2 lights, 1 block apart.
get stopped at first light, while waiting for it to turn, I watch 2nd light turn red.
so first light turns green, and I just give it enough speed to coast to the next light, and my timing would have been perfect to not have to even hit the brakes, I could have put it into 3rd and just rolled right through, except....
some asshat behind me decides they want to be at the light before me (remember, we're talking 1 block apart...) so they and a 2nd vehicle decide to go around me, then cut in front of me, just to slam their brakes to stop, also forcing me to have to slam my brakes to avoid hitting them. of course, at this time, the light turns green, so just as I am forced to come to a complete stop, I then have to start off in 1st... and THEN the very same person who hotdogged to get in front of me, proceeds to only go 20mph !
(spd limit is 50mph !)
I kid you not, a Semi in the other lane accelerated faster and up to the spd limit.
I thought that I must have done something to piss them off at some point of the drive from the town 23 miles to the N, which is where I first encountered this vehicle, but nothing stands out at all.

3 moans today, none are important but my spleen needs venting...

1. Java - Is there a day when there isn't an update required for it ? Same for anything by Adobe or Apple. Funny thing is of course advocates for Java also seem to be those who moan the most about there being so many Windows updates...

2. Temporary traffic lights. These are used when someone has to dig up a section of road - usually they end up doing this 3 or 4 times because they are useless at it but thats another moan. The ones that held me up this morning had nothing in between them. Nothing. No workmen, no holes, no repairs, nothing. The bit of road before them of course had all of these things and no lights so cars are dodging in between trucks, diggers and men.

3. DUI - went out with A Junior annoying neighbours with bad jokes for sweets (otherwise known as the imported evening of Trick or Treat). Went to one house, the lady (mid 60s) was clearly pished - this was 6-30 pm and the smell that came out of the house when the door opened . Finished there, went next door only to watch this woman get into her car and drive away.

Press escape, it stops moving.
Or install NoScript (an add-on for FireFox). It stops a whole lot of other annoying stuff.

Or put "About:config" in the address bar, agree to the careful and change the image animation mode setting from "Normal" to "None".

Next annoyance: phone calls from insurance salespersons. Today's call:
- Hello, we have an insurance plan tailored just for you.
- I'm not looking for insurance.
- You can insure your house with the following...
- I'm not the owner of any house.
- You car can also be insured. Here is the plan...
- But my car is already insured. By your company, in fact.
- Oh, well we don't have access to that information.
- Then how did you get my phone number?
- If we have your number, then you must be one of our clients.
- I rest my case. (Hang up)
