Diagnose this car's problem?

A friend has some trouble with her 2013 Ford. Doesn't this sound like a short in the sound system? What is it? Anyone seen this kind of thing before?

It's a Ford. Of course stupid crap happens. Replace the radio. Not worth troubleshooting.

Loose spark plug wire?

Wait a minute. If it's not worth troubleshooting, then why am I trying to troubleshoot it?

Is that the radio making that sound?

Hahaha! I think the sound is coming through the speakers but I was not personally there to take this video. She aslo does not seem to get audio from the radio itself. The dealer claims it does not happen when they test drive, so they are refusing to fix under warranty. It is driving her nuts. Thanks for a little ofmyour time. -james

They claim it doesn't happen during the test drive: ride with them! Don't let them take it out by themselves.

And show them this video, of course. It points up that the issue is intermittent.

It sounds to me like the power supply for the radio itself is intermittent. That would explain why there's the spark of static as power is established, however briefly, but generally the radio is making no sound at all.

Do other audio functions work? If the CD player works, that strongly suggests that the receiver or tuner itself is failed inside the radio, but the amp and other hardware is okay. If nothing makes any sound, that would suggest the main power supply is failing.
