That's interesting although there is not much performance information like mpg and top speed ...

Hi all

This is my build

Sorry about that, I still need to a do a summary page with specifications.

It's top speed is 58 mph (geared limit ). I was careful not to overgear it is a this negatively affects fuel economy.

First tank through it, which was mainly old diesel fuel, was 110 UK mpg. You can follow it on fuelly as I continue to track it's consumption.

All subsequent fill ups will be waste veg oil and 10% petrol.

Any questions ask away.

Congratulation on the build !
I am so envious, there is no way I could DVLA such a modified vehicle here in france.

I am not familiar with the Villiers gearbox but I assume it is a 4 speed gearbox, right ?
I also assume your engine being industrial has is power peak at 3.6K or so ?
(don't pay attention, I am trying to figure how to make it faster just for my very own pleasure)

Many thanks!

That is one good thing about the UK, modifying vehicles over here isnt too hard, and there isnt a huge amount of red tape. If I had changed the identity of the bike it would require an SVA which would be a major pain.

Yes, the villiers is a 4 speed. Very old tech but it does work. its a 1 down, 4 up pattern.

This should answer your power question:

Some people have had success turboing the engines. Although there seems to be more success in supercharging them.

I have a spare belt driven secondary air pump floating about, that I may put to use as a supercharger for the bike, not sure yet.

Its been calculated you should be able to double the power output of the engine without putting too much extra stress on them, have a read here:

About same as a 125cc scooter thanks to the gearing.
