I've had people pass me illegally many times, on the right side of the road using a turn lane, on or off ramp, double yellow lines. I rarely do much under the limit if someone can't get around me. If they have a passing lane, I do what I want more so.

What I've found is that those people who are pissed off 'at you' are almost always pissed off before getting behind you and will continue to be after passing you. Cause after they tear around me, they just go tail gate the next person in front of me.

As we have discussed before, it does not make sense, but instead of simply changing lanes and maintaining their faster speeds, drivers often tailgate and perhaps do other rude things, expecting that to "accomplish" something. I change lanes to allow someone to pass if I can, but if I cannot, and the vehicle behind me tailgates, I just maintain my speed. However, if they fill my rear view mirror, I generally coast until they go around.

I have had people shout "You did that just to bother me!"

You're so vain...

I imagine that many times people tailgate me and think or perhaps actually shout "Why won't he speed up?! Can't he see me tailgating him?! He must be doing this to make me mad!"

Pulse and glide, on the other hand. Instead of maintaining a constant speed (on level ground, without a stop ahead), you drive even slower, but finally start accelerating, and right when they think you are going to drive the speed they want, you slow down again!

I do not always pulse-and-glide, but when I do, it is in very light traffic.

Yet people always tell me how reckless it is to drive slower than "traffic," while I insist everyone drives different speeds, and unless they use cruise control, they do not necessarily maintain speed very well. I always mention the police officer who lectured me on hazardous it is to "force" traffic to pass me and I was cited for impeding traffic.

I also do that...
Move over when safe to let passers pass and leave ME alone to do what I am enjoying

No matter who or what vehicle is going slower OR faster, traffic should be SMOOTH, and drivers should keep it smooth..., but then(), life is not perfect and majority of the drivers, well, ya'll know about them

Dumb impatient young lady in a minivan simply couldn't comprehend why I'd allowed a gap big enough for a car to get into form when approaching the stopped queue at a light, so she hit the horn. As if being 30' closer to that queue for 3 seconds would make a difference?

The advantage of driving an unusual looking car is that most people are too busy staring at my car to think about getting pissed off. My main problem on multi-lane roads is someone getting next to me in the passing lane, then matching my speed while they gawk and take photos. Meanwhile the other would-be passers are piling up behind him and getting pissed off at him rather than me. But only until they get even with me, when some of them start gawking/photoing in turn. This can get annoying if I have a left turn coming up soon.

I try to adjust my driving so I don't piss off other drivers. But I've had a few beep at me and a few kamikaze passes. I'll never forget the one woman who threw her hands up in the air out of frustration when I was coasting at 20 MPH in a 30 MPH zone, heading towards a red light. I don't know why she wanted to get to the red light so fast, it didn't turn green until about 30 seconds after we both stopped.

I've noticed that if I'm in a hurry and go the speed limit of 55 MPH, I end up with a train of 3-5 cars behind me. But if I go 45 in a 55, I get passed right away instead of collecting cars.
