Dunkler's Fit [EcoMod Thread] *UPDATED[7-11-11]*

Hey guys. I am going to be starting with some EcoMods this week, and here are the first set of things I am ordering:

Mooneyes Online Store - Specialty Equipment Manufacturer, Speed and Custom Parts for Motorcycles and Automobiles Went with pizza pans and velcro instead

I want feedback from you guys on this stuff before I order it. If it's ok with the Moderators, I will just keep this thread updated with new pics as it comes along.

I chose the snap on style because I don't want to use screws. I am also planning on making everything I do to my vehicle completely 100% reversible.

Thoughts?

ultimate goal is to look something like this when done.

MODS Done:
1. Delete windshield wipers
2. Delete side mirrors
3. Add smooth wheel covers
4. Installed Ultra-Gauge

MODS Remaining:
1. Add full under belly pan
2. Add upper grill block and possibly partial lower grill block
3. Add rear fender skirts
4. Add LRR tires

Looks sweeeeet.
You might want to consider blocking the upper grille opening, and partially blocking the lower opening. The upper opening is typically a styling point, and the lower opening does most of the work. Do you have a Scangauge or Ultragauge? If you do, you can keep an eye on coolant temperature as you progressively block the openings. Don't trust the stock gauge that's in the dashboard; they're notoriously innacurate.
Good luck!

Dunkler-

Try increasing tire psi in small increments, mine are set at 42.Ride is a little rougher but I'm ok with that. Congrats on mpg,am trying to average 40 mpg with a manual, but not quite there yet as most of my trips are 5 miles or less. Sean

i think the snap on style mooneyes are meant for steelies. you could get the mooneyes that attach with dzus fasteners, but that'll require welding tabs onto your wheels. another option is buying some relatively smooth, solid hubcaps, filling the holes with fiberglass, and painting them.

Yeah I was wondering about that with the snap on type. I was going to see what you guys thought before I went any further with the purchase. So, if I bought the screw on type mooneyes would I just screw them into the wheel itself?

Phase 1 complete : removal of windshield wipers and addition of pizza pans to wheels via industrial strength velcro.

Edit: Added better pics.

Also I am in the process of deleting both side mirrors. Pics soon to follow!
