I know we've got a thread about this somewhere, but I've always said "eeko". (I'm always a bit surprised when someone says "echomodder" out loud.)
Then there's Ford, which is trying to get auto journalists to spread the word that their engines (Ecoboost) are EEKO but their little crossover (Ecosport) is ECHO. Idiotic! (Or... a wily scheme to get people like me talking about their products who otherwise wouldn't?!? Now I feel dirty.)
Problematic: unfortunately, I think the "eco" label has (since this site was started) taken on ever stronger political overtones, particularly in the US. It's probably become counterproductive to market anything with "eco" in the name if the goal is reaching the widest possible audience. Along the same lines, I suspect that's why some automakers have gone with "blue" to describe their efficient products instead of "green".
Oops, politics! Excuse me while I ban myself.

Oh holy can of worms!
Eco stands for economy, I guess, maybe ecology plays a role too.
But you don't want to say eCOmodder, would you?
and the leading E in economy isn't set either.
Google tells me the Brits say uh· ko·nuh-mee while westward it's ee· kaa·nuh-mee?
Then there's this:
Eh?
Oh well. We shouldn't delve too deep in this or make it sound weirder than necessary. OTOH, I'm used to it; 'modder' is the Dutch word for mud... I get some funny questions when people spot my sticker.

"EcoModder decal" can be pronounced so many ways! But only one way is correct!

That's not an Echo Sport! This is an Echo Sport!
I present to you the TRD!
It sounds like Echoes are like Mirages, you are going to hate then with an autotragic.

Yeah, I'm still saying that... somehow I read it as that the first time and never looked back. Even after driving one, I get it wrong half the time. I don't get what Arci means or why it's significant... and I just realized I'm still inclined to call it Acri which is yet another incorrect way to say it.

It is important to communicate well, but if you get your message across without being unnecessarily annoying, it was good enough.

Well, I thought i'd just pop back in here and see whats all going on.
Miss this place and missed my old VX. In fact, I'm trying to get a hold of @drainoil to see if my old VX is still making the rounds in MN. He sold it in 2015, so if anyone bought it from on here, please contact me.
I picked up a VX in December because of my long commute and my love for the little gas savers.
Good to see that this site is still around and full of good information!

Thanks for the warm welcome back!
Hopefully I can track down Thrifty McGassaver (My old VX) since Rob (drainoil) sold it and his email address that I have on file is no longer active. I'd be interested in knowing if it's still on the road or ready for the scrap heap. If it's the latter, then I wouldn't mind seeing if I can get some parts off of it for my current VX ;-)

ScanGauges shipped
To the winners of the ScanGauges: FYI, Linear Logic should now have your mailing addresses. Let me know if you don't get your gauges. (A couple of times I've had messages to them disappear into the aether.)
