Most cars that say they can't be flat towed usually also have a mileage limit i.e.: don't flat tow more than 50miles before running the car again. It's because the engine needs to run to turn the fluid pump in the trans; without turning the pump the moving parts can run dry and start to wear extremely fast. Being in a running car and shutting off for a 1mile down hill SHOULDN'T cause any extra wear on the internals of the trans since they are only running without active fluid pumping for a short time/distance. Some autos are safe to flat tow (Saturn S-series) and it is not recommended for some manuals (Subaru WRX (according to a friend of mine)).

My Suzuki also has a speed limit, EOC is only 'safe' below 30mph.

For anyone reading this, it also applied to manuals. Many of these :



had their gearboxes ruined by towing.

I'm doing the kill switch soon One thing I am interested in is if I can get the car to do DFCO mode BUT allow me to hold WOT to reduce pumping losses. This would keep the tranny lubed like it is suppose too, and I would get infinite FE

The Ecoscort got tinted windows today! A comparison:



I went snooping around the junkyard and I found too much good stuff! I picked up 3 more spare wheels and tires, so I can now run spare rims with my tires. This will give the offset needed to make front fender skirts work very well. They are 14x4.



AND I found this!



This is a EMA0 ECU and 6 wire MAF connector out of a 2000 ZX2. The EMA0 is said to be one of the best auto computers for the ZX2, if not the best.

All for $87

Nothing wrong with some tint. I've got 20% all around my Focus and just had my Monte redone in 5%. What brand and size tires are you running? If you ever want to wheels that are a little more stylish you could probably run Fox Mustang skinnies. Would be cool to see an Escort rolling on some pro-stars and or street lites lol.

I went with 20% all around in the Escort with a 5% tint strip. It is nice! Driving is cooler and feels more... right The Blazer had 5% or 2.5% all around, and that is dark! I loved it.

I'm now rolling on 14x4 Escort space savers with 185/70R14 Blacklion Cilerros. I got the front 2 put on yesterday and will be getting the back 2 installed today! I had thought about some used drag lites, but since full fender covers are the plan for both the front and rear, looks don't matter anymore
