I didn't have any trouble with tire shop, I just used a small town shop. The setup is working fine but I didn't do tests. Coast down is much longer.

You're fortunate iveyjh. I had to stand my ground at both places. Both were small town tire shops too
My coasting sucks right now... The shops wouldn't go over 40 psi for my tires, down from 65

It's been about 2 yrs since I bought the tires and I didn't buy them by Car name. They don't list them any longer, closest is ContiEcoContact 3 took the place of the ones I bought, ContiEcoContact EP. The narrowest they sell the 3 is 155/65 R15

What does insurance say about this stateside ? Here anything non-standard like narrower tyres have to be declared otherwise cover is cancelled.

Not to my knowledge. Insurance is pretty lax on modifications here. My brother has a lifted Dodge Ram 1500 with 33" tires and it is listed as a normal truck, nothing different. I will check in and see, cuz I do not want any more trouble than what I have now - Zero

Is your speedo out if whack now with those tires? I know I said you need to drop it but it just clicked in my head that it's probably because of shorter tires. Was this planned or just the tallest tires you could get?
Some tire places are like that because in their mind you are doing something dangerous and they don't want the liability. Look into getting tire mounting hand tools and a tripod balancer, maybe off craigslist, that way you can order tires on tire rack and mount them yourself without the hassle of dealing with tire guys.
