the perfect car for whatever crackheads do with stolen cars.
What I learned on jury duty is that they gather behind certain big box retailers at night and trade stolen cars so that they become a 'holder in due course'.

Sure, "Jury duty." Wink-wink, nod-nod.

I told Mom that you need to go to a dealership for a new key. She didn't believe me. Most people on-line say that, but Consumer Reports indicates that you can DIY it. When I searched on-line people asked and others responded "Why are you trying to steal Hondas?!"
"Wait, no, I--"
"Car thief!"
"I just want to--"
"Car thief!"

I found one post where someone claimed that it was shady that Ace would cut you a key without proof of ownership.

"Hey, I work at Ace. You already have one key..."

I don't think I can talk about it. But... it was before the end of Prohibition.

Does anyone know if Celicas are good cars?!

Do you know anyone that knows a lot about Celicas?!

I swear this was $2,500 earlier today. It is currently $2,000. Hey! Why are you guys grabbing pitchforks and torches?!

Facebook also says that it is rated 19/26.

A 2-door Corolla with a body kit gets slightly less fuel economy than my 4-door Accord?!

It must be the 2.2L version. The 1.8L is rated 24/31.

Oh hey guys! Is that a rail?! What are you doing with that?!
1995 Toyota Celica GT Liftback Hatchback 2D

The 1994 GT does 0-60 in 8.4 seconds. That may not sound fast, but my 1987 Prelude was rated 9.1 seconds.

The 1994 Prelude was rated 7.1 seconds. What does the VTEC say?

I got my new key yesterday. It was $130.65 and someone painted the H red. Fancy!

Celicas are basically carinas with less room in the back and maybe sportier suspension. So they are as reliable as other toyotas from that era.
Except that celicas may have gotten a little bit more of that right foot treatment...

The Accent is down to $700. Do you think that is negotiatiable? It is a 5-speed, but depending on the engine it is either rated 24/33 or 23/34, so not technically it doesn't belong here, my apologies.

Okay, technically only HX Civics from 1996-2000 belong here. The non-VTEC (DX?) one is rated 27/33, the SOHC VTEC (LX?) one is rated 25/32, and the DOHC VTEC (EX?) one is rated 22/29.

Technically I should compare the 2001 Civic, but I am unfamiliar with that generation.

Let's say that you can buy the Accent for $700 and average 27 MPG or a Civic for $1,500 and average 30 MPG. FuelEconomy.gov says the Civic would save you $100 a year over the Hyundai, so it would take 8 years to break even, but what are the chances the Korean car will still be running in 2028 compared to the popular Japanese one?

How would maintenance on either be?

The owner calls the Hyundai ugly. Can I fix that and flip it?

As soon as you buy it their opinion is moot (no fixing opinion). Find a buyer that swoons over the looks.

I meant fix the ugliness, not their opinion!

Why don't you tell me "Find a woman that is tall, beautiful, athletic, intelligent, owns her own house and car [outright], and has no fewer than 10 olympic medals?"
