I don't want a 99 Accord. You seem to want one - not sure why as you already have one.

I am not paying for a mechanic to look at someone else's car, nor am I paying more than I can get out of the car. Nobody knows what places up here will pay for a nonrunning car and nobody will do anything to find out.

I only want the car if I can get it for what most people would consider a reasonable price and then I never want any contact with her again.

Her grandpa is funny, though. I was tempted to stop by today, but I was supposed to have clients at 4:15 and 5:15.

Supposed to...

Full disclosure

When I first got a hold of the girl I asked what was wrong and then "Is there anything else" and she responded "The shifter for park neutral reverse a pice broke inside of it and you have to use something to push down in it and it’s in neutral right now"

Her grandfather couldn't find the broken shifter, so it is officially missing.

That only adds to the value, right?

Also, the advertised 150,000 miles is a blatant lie:

Unfortunately, that mileage is estimated, based on 13,500 a year. It hasn't had any records in 7 years!

It hasn't had 150,000 miles in 12 years!
So, not only is there no blue book value for nonrunning cars, but increasing the mileage by 60% drives down the value...

...and the appeal! I want a car with fewer miles than mine, not more!

This is why I sold my Honda civic. After the 4th time of my lifetime alternator warranty replacement from AutoZone and having to unbolt the transmission mounts and jack the engine up to replace the alternator I said screw it. On a 500 dollar car I wasn't going to go to honda to buy an oem alternator for $300.

If he took 1/3 the salary of a Honda president, this could be a valid comparison. He did like to hire bigwigs for $1 a year, so maybe we have something here. But was he harder to install than his opponents were?
