That site doesn't seem to have an option to see what is nearby. I don't feel like undertaking a road trip for an econobox, but they don't have any Metros, Civics, or Insights. They do have a 1990 Accord with crazy-low miles for $2,800, but I would rather buy a 2005 Accord with 150,000 miles for that price.

I paid $2,800 for a 1990 Accord with 97,000 miles in 2004!

I have seen some stuff about starting a car that has sat for a while. I keep my Civic battery on a trickle charger and would bring jumper cables, but I am not looking into what else I may need [or ordering the new ignition cylinder] until I hear back from the owner.

In unrelated news, I cannot bill for four sessions that I worked in the last two weeks because their authorizations ended.

This would have been my biggest paycheck since March. For some reason that was twice the size of any check since last year.

I should have just said "Bring a trailer", the website was a joke.

OTOH my son posted a 1972 Karmann Ghia there, saying first one here with a trailer takes it. It was gone in 15 minutes. I think I told him once he was forgiven, but not really. It had sat for months but then he 'needed the room'.

Did I do that right?

I seem to have committed myself to another project. Stay tuned.

Hopefully it is completely boring. It is the exciting projects that take forever.

I find my life pretty boring overall. The only excitement that I get is stuff going wrong. I deeply wish that would calm down.

I need to buy a big can of jalapeņos, boil it right before the VA opens tomorrow morning, and ask for a test. Hopefully they approve me, even though I will seem to miraculously recover in the short time that it will take me to drive over.

The friend that just tested positive says that she has not had any contact with anyone that had any symptoms.

"OTOH my son posted a 1972 Karmann Ghia there, saying first one here with a trailer takes it. It was gone in 15 minutes."

Oh my. How long ago was that?

My parents' car when they were newly married was a K Ghia. My mom likes to illustrate the generational tectonic shift in attitudes toward safety by telling the story about bringing my brother (their first-born) home in that car: in a basket... nestled on the passenger floor... beside which you could see the passing road through a gaping rust hole!

There was a very nice orange one in town when I was in high school, owned by an old lady, driven rarely. I once left a note on the windshield: "If you would ever like to sell this car..."

He needed the space for an off-lease 2010 Dodge Charger, so 2012. It wasn't just that he let it go to a stranger. I'd given it to him when he needed transportation.

It was a yellow '72 with four rotted wheel arches. There was a guy in Washington state that was selling hand-formed metal wide-body kits at the time, it was a perfect candidate. I paid $1500, so it would have been a candidate for this thread if it had the 36hp motor, which it didn't.

There used to be one parked across the street from a laundromat I used. Black over red low-light Ghia with black and gold California plates. I never left the note because I knew it was out of my league. Example pic:

Someone posted a 2002 Accord SE with 172,000 miles for $1,500. I saw the ad a little over half an hour after it was posted and messaged the owner immediately. I asked a couple of questions and then asked to see the car.

He said "Tomorrow."

Did he want to sell the car or not?!

I asked "How early," he said "8am?" and we agreed on a place, but last night I went to look at the ad again and he had sold it.

The inside was dirty, but the outside was a 9/10.

That just seems to be how everything goes for me. I matched up with a nice-seeming woman on Facebook Dating.

I would write "Lady," but cursing is one of her hobbies...

On Sunday I invited her to dinner last night.

She brought up breakfast, so I invited her to breakfast, but I couldn't get an answer.

She started talking about after 4, so I finally tried to commit her to dinner, but she wouldn't answer. This continued until 3-something yesterday when she said that she may need to work.

Now she is married.

It seems this has been on Facebook Marketplace for a while now: 2006 HCH with 203,000 miles and intermittent traction battery failures

The owner is asking $2,500, but nobody is offering that much.

JR bought one those, but couldn't fix it. I think that he has more projects going on than I do, but he swapped out the battery pack, swaps engines, etc.

I don't know why he doesn't finish projects. Maybe that is why Amberghini left him.
