1996 Civic LX with 200,000 miles for $1,300

Nobody has posted in six weeks?

I just happened to see this while utilizing the latrine. I would post pictures and everything, but I need to submit 22 sets of notes and an invoice, and start writing progress reports tomorrow.
I also see two clients an hour away tomorrow.

Otherwise I would go look at this.

I am going to link it to my sister. She wants something for my 16-year-old nephew.

Why not a car ten years older than he is?

freebeard, how do you really feel?

2011 Dodge avenger for $1,400

Can this get 35 MPG?

I don't know, maybe? Imperial, with a tailwind, ethanol-free gas, and on the back of tow truck because it is a Dodge?

Is it worth $1,400?

I don't know, that sounds pretty high to me!

The car has 132,000 miles and it pains me to do this, but this is what she wrote:
Quote:
Car runs good other then there is something wrong that it starts to over heat/ starts to get pretty hot, I can't afford to fix or figure out what's wrong with it. Interior isn't to bad i did clean the best I could, it will need a way better cleaning especially in the back floorboard. Asking 1,750 or obo just need gone asap. Pm me for questions or if interested.
It runs good except for overheating. I did a terrible job cleaning it, but that is the best I can do.

Also, "Or OBO" is interesting.

She also posted it in in the local Facebook group.

#1: "How soon does it heat up when u start it"
Seller: "not right away but it only gets hot when your driving it qont get hot when it's just sitting, id say when driving it takes 5-8 min"
#2 "Is it losing coolant? Do the oil or radiator caps have what looks like chocolate pudding on them?"
Seller: "no niether have that the resavor is about a year old last was cracked"
#3: "How hot did it get when you were driving it? And for how long?"
Seller: Nothing!
#4: "Over heating could lead to bigger problems towards your engine it's could also lead to a costly fix as well so with that being said what's the absolute lowest you would take for tour car thanks"
Seller: "I'm trying to take no less then 1400 I'm a stay at home mom and really need the money"
#5: "It could be as easy as a sensor change !!! Get a mechanic to diagnose it before you give it away. You will regret it"
Seller: "I've got another car already thank you"
#5: "don't sell yourself short.
Say it's a sensor. 100 bux
Fix it then sell it for double what you're offering
You are nutso if you don't consider.
unless there's more wrong then you're letting on of course. 🤷🏻*♀️"
Seller: "I've checked sensors there all fine, im not a car person so I don't know anything else other then how to put oil and antifreeze in. I currently don't work and im a stay at home mom just hurting for some cash so that's why I don't care letting it go for a low price"

This is one of those situations where I have so many questions I just want to let the crazies sort out themselves.

She is a stay-at-home mom and really needs the money, but she immediately came down 20%. She doesn't need to get a good price from this car because she already has another.

She is not a car person, but she checked the sensors.

I want to comment that I will give her the $1,400 if she tells me which sensors she checked and how.

She doesn't care about selling it cheaply because she is hurting for cash.

#4 asked what her lowest price was, but overall it sure seems like nobody is interested in her car and everyone wants to help out a stranger.

2001 Toyota Echo-camino with 156,000 miles for $1300

With a 5 speed the EPA rates the Echo at 29 city/37 highway, but the truck bed/camper conversion undoubtedly makes this echo's mileage worse.

(can't link due to post count, but it is on SFbay craigslist)

The ad says clean title, but it looks like the driver's side rear corner got hit. I'm also not sure how the original vertical portion of the "trunk" stays in place.

I'm surprised how many economy cars that I assumed were fuel efficient don't meet the EPA 35mpg hwy threshold (Kia Rio, Chevy Cavalier, Hyundai Tiburon, etc)
