1993 Escort LX Wagon
1993 Escort LX Wagon. 2nd owner. 5 speed manual. Power windows, power locks, cruise control. Clean interior. Escort ZX2 S/R suspension (springs, struts, 15" wheels), handles awesome. Will get 40 MPG on the highway. Originally a southern car, minimal rust.

Oops - this one doesn't qualify! I didn't realize the EPA only gives it a 33 mpg highway rating:

I spotted this on MSN, no they aren't $1500 but I didn't know where else to post this, it's a neat find.
Mysterious collection of micro-cars appears on Kijiji

The 2000 Insight went for $3025, not a cheap beater price, but not a bad one!

I seriously considered that Insight, but my old Sentra just keeps chugging along at $65 a month for gas and insurance. It would take a long time to recover the difference even if it got twice the mileage and had no repair cost.

I saw the picture of your sentra in the thread about prii pulling trailers, that car is nice! How'd you get it at scrap price?

Nothing good around here lately.
There was an '06 Prius daily commuter with high kms that went for $3k before I got a chance to look at it. That's the cheapest 2nd gen. Prius I've seen advertised around here. (Prius has never sold well in Canada, relative to the US. Local ones don't come up often, period.)
And there's an '02 Civic with half a million km for 900 bucks. The owner is nuts if he thinks he'll get that much considering it needs tires, windshield and the CEL is on.
