As much as I hate Aveos, for $800 it'd be hard to pass on that...

Here is a rare one, an older Corolla wagon! I don't think I've ever actually seen one of these on the road. It also misses the 35 mpg highway mark by a little.

EPA: 23 / 26 / 31

1994 Toyota Corolla Wagon - $1200

Quote:
Corolla Wagon runs good, everything seems to work. 145k miles. The car ha a manual transmission. It's not our car. We are selling it for a friend who needs the money.

Blast from the past. A friend had one of those.. with the 5 speed. Drove it across the country to help him move from Ontario to BC. Road trip!

Then he got lifestyle inflation and traded it in on an Audi.

This one looks like it just got back from the future.

EPA: Not sure, way too many engine choices. Is the red valve cover the SI engine?

I have to say I didn't realize the ratings were that decent on these.

Last time I saw one of these, "IT" was the threatened punishment car for people who failed at the Audi TDI hypermileage competition:

I found another Paseo. The body even looks semi-decent on it. Typical wiper arm rust. It also falls short of Darin's 35 mpg minimum, but can easily beat it.

EPA: 24 / 27 / 31

1992 toyota paseo - $1000

5 speed!!! new battery new breaks. decent tires. needs strut mounts. runs great starts right up 180k miles. drive it home

Are these old wagons in great demand? My friend's got an even older one, the model before this gen, last one with a carburetor, & automatic, free rust too. Torque converter locks up just before 60km/h & would get around 36mpg (imperial/canadian mpg) in the summer, higher on highway, still around 32-33mpg in the snowy winter. Big enough to fit a single materess or a full size fridge (crazy room for a small car, even if a little sticks out the back door)

Are Paseo's a thing? We have a '92 at our shop for sale, 5 speed, no rust. It's not mine it's my buddys but I think it's $1500 or something like that.

Also I sold the '94 Cavalier with 26k Miles on it. You have to figure someone out there would get on board with a car whose mileage is that low for that cheap.

They're rare enough that I'm sure there are a small group of people who covet ... or hoard ... them. And if you could find an AWD version... holy unicorn, Batman!

---

War_Wagon - congrats on selling that Cavalier! It's these small, infrequent victories that keep you from quitting this bad habit.
