battery pack comparo: read 'em and weep
After multiple charge/drive cycles to wake up the "standby pack", visual results of a load test comparison of the current pack vs. the standbys...
The leftmost batts (#1 & #2) are the same in both pics - I left in the best batteries from the current pack for comparison purposes.
It's not good. The best battery in the standby pack performs worse than the worst battery of the existing pack.
So sad!
I'll evict these mutts and return the others to the car this week.
Now I'm mulling over the idea of some aggressive weight reduction as one means for prolonging the life of the current pack, which is probably the car's last.

Well that stinks. Do you have any additional batteries other than those?

Nope! That was my fingers-crossed standby pack. I was operating under the mistaken impression that they were in better shape than the ones in the car.
Fortunately, we only paid scrap value for them, because they're headed for the battery recycler! (So, should get the money back.)

Not that I'd likely drive to Canada to trailer it back, but what are you asking?

And I'll take weight off for you to save fuel on the return trip!
Aside from the rusted out underbody, the topsides are actually still decent, so I'm going to keep the removable bits for the Firefly convertible, which has been sitting in storage since I got it.
The best plan for this car would be to find another non-rusted-out Metro/Suzukiclone and swap everything over.

Sooo...I know this guy, he has these eco cars...can't remember where he got them, but he's got them, know what I mean?? Too bad the shipping would kill both of us, or a trade could be in order.
