Electro-Metro Work Day - Nov 9, 2008 - SE Wisconsin
Hello!
You are all invited to work on my Electric Geo Metro this Sunday. Details below:
-Ben
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to get a few things done on my Geo Metro Electric conversion.
I need to take it in to the emissions inspection station in about a month, and thus need to mount tow brackets and front battery mounts.
Tow brackets to get the car there, and front battery mounts, because I am pretty sure they would question the ratchet strap holding the front two batteries in otherwise...
I am looking for people to lend a hand this Sunday. Bringing a welder, angle iron, metal-cutting saw, and your mad skills is greatly appreciated.
I will be out in my driveway by 9:00 AM, and staying there until I have put the front end of the car back together.
I offer you food and drink in exchange for your time, materials, and skills.
Hope you can make it!
Ben Nelson

Just use battery boxes. They are legal and safe. For towing from the front, I suggest a pro fabricator make hooks through the "Guppy Mouth" right to the bumper mounts. Good luck Ben!

Plastic battery boxes wouldn't do me any good. The batteries are an odd size, and they don't have any level place to sit.
This requires a custom solution.
Fortunately, three workers with welders, Sawsalls, a portable bandsaw, and all materials needed showed up!
A forth guy, who was interested in EV 's, stopped by to see what we were doing.
Read more about what we did over in my Electro-Metro thread.

Well?
How did it go? Where's the pics? Were there any earth shattering discoveries? Really, I do hope it went well and kinda wish I could have joined you.

Wish I could have been there. I was really looking forward to it!
The Paseo's exhaust has steam blowing out my ears with anger as it still doesn't fit after tweaking several times.
