Without clicking on it, does that 25% bonus mean your $100 deposit will count as $125 towards the (gonna be way more than $25 over) $6800 price?

They throw in a fourth wheel?

No that would be 33%. I choose to not care.

That sounds like what they did in the past - your deposit is increased by 25%.

I still can't figure out how they can only charge $6,800?? The Can Am and Slingshot trykes are in the $20,000 range and they have no roof, door, windows, airbags, real heater, wiper etc...

They are that expensive because they are bolted together piece by piece by craftsmen.

Elio goes for serial production. They are not building cars yet, they are (if all is well) building a large scale production facility.

China can build full 4 wheel cars for around $3500, I have no doubt elio can make a bare bones 3 wheeler for $6800

The 3 wheels does not equal 3/4 the price. You still have one of each of the most expensive things like motor, transmission, a/c system, controls, instruments, etc. The big makers figured out long ago it doesn't really cost less to build a small car as it does to build a big car. So if the least expensive car in the US is over $12,000 how does dropping a wheel get you almost 1/2 the cost? No doubt China or India could and do do it for that money, but we aren't talking $20/week labor, no EPA bureaucracy, stolen technology, and no content 20hp cars.

The smaller engine is cheaper, right? Not necessarily 25%, but still less, correct? Then you do not need as strong a transmission, yes?

Smaller air conditioner... controls and instruments would be comparable, though.
