So how many more years till we see a transmission? Are they using an existing tranny or is it another proprietary design? I wish they would just sell me the body as a kit and I'll figure my own power train.

If they'd sell me the kit I'd gut my Insight like a fish and throw the stuff in the Elio and get well over 100 mpg.

I was told by someone who saw the Elio in Arizona, that they would be using a Toyota transaxle.

I could bet they would use some outdated Aisin 4-speed for the automatic version.
