Any idea on how it would affect the aerodynamics?

I can guess. 0.04 Cd? The bumpers and lights are shaved. Rear vents on the front fenders might help the airflow down the sides.

OTOH, easier to wash; what I think of as a defining factor of California Clean look.

The tapered nose of the Beetle, under the skin lends itself to some of the aerodynamics you see on hypercars. Here's an example from my albums.

I have a design for an arched panel that follows the side trim line and connects the front and rear fenders, but no presentable sketch.

It used to be quite common to see Beetles and other rear-engined Volkswagens in a worse state of disrepair still daily-driven in my country until recently.

Money pit. Doesn't know anything about what he's doing. He could have started with an easier restore. Or two. First thing he should do is check the month and year on the wheels to see if they match the build plate. That kind of stuff.

He has a successful YouTube channel. Even if this is as big a waste of time as Matt Risinger's real home rebuild it will pay for itself.

I don't remember seeing anybody doing that, plus so many vehicles are fitted with replacement wheels it would be nearly impossible to find one with them matching the build plate by month and year.
