first kilotank (1k+ km = 620+ miles) in the beater Metro: 72 MPG US!
I passed the 1k milestone for the first time in the winter beater Metro!
That's 1021 km on the trip odometer (not merely 21), with 1/8 tank remaining! (I chickened out last tank and filled at 987 km, but the needle was on "E" last time.)
This will be a record tank -- should be 70+ MPG. According to the ScanGauge, it's sitting at 71.8. I'll likely fill up next week.

Ha! You caught me. I gave the Firefly the spring/summer off this year.
But the MPGiata is coming out of hibernation in a few weeks for late summer/fall duties. And then I'm throwing the Metro back into the briny slush!
So the Metro's impending fill-up will likely be the high-water mark for the year. Fingers crossed for 70!

Congrats, amazing numbers there.
I make too many short trips lately and can't keep my foot off the gas, so you're likely to do better than my next fillup.

NICE.
I have only one car that can do a kilotank, but Son #2 has it and rarely gets better than 45mpg. Ah well.

Congrats on over 620mi! I highly doubt I’ll ever go that far on a tank of fuel lol...

My 2006 stock 1.4 diesel, robotic transmission (not a slush box but manual with computer controlled actuators) toyota corolla once did that.
But only once.

We had a Corolla diesel available to us in the States for about 45 minutes back around 1984 or 85. I think they sold about 3. Maybe 4.
Not literally but it sure feels that way.

^ I did not know that! I wonder if Canada got it too... if proportional to the States as usual, availability would have been around 4 or 5 minutes.
