Thank you for doing this! I will cross my fingers (but only on one hand, two hands cancels out the good luck).

In case anyone needs a profile of their vehicle
you can use a wheel selection visualization tool like at tire and trackrack.com
and get something like the attached pic

for those of you aero modding an H2 with 22" rims

for those of you having trouble with the illustrator
- I would stick to black and white
I had similar problems until I painted my background white (not erased/clear/empty)
FYI the attached image needs its background painted white

if you are doing it right - you will get your uploaded image displayed in the center of the window
if you don't get that image - don't waste your time with generating a movie

hope this helps

I've had nothing but problems on this computer (my laptop) in the past when using compilers. Won't have use of my desktop (the beast) until next week. Can anyone compile Dolphyn for me so it can be installed in Vista or XP professional SP2?
Greatly appreciated if you could.

It seems that this thread has generated more interest than the guy's server can handle. Yesterday it was a ~15 minute queue... right now its ~67 minutes!

Also, when you do get the thing to run, I would give yourself some more whitespace in your image (shrink the car) so you can see the airflow and turbulence behind the car.

The server just reset on me about 20 mins ago, and has been working quickly since. I've got my half dozen movies with slight differences to see possible mods, so I recommend anyone who wanted to try this out do it NOW! lol

When I was checking it out a week ago, it was saying a 22 minute queue. But then it spit back the vid after just a few minutes. Of course I couldnt play it, but thats another story.

All I have installed for codecs on my machine is DivX, and it plays just fine. Download Movies - Movie Downloads - DivX Movies

110% Agreement. Here is how my image breaks down (click on it to see text description) :

I intend to redo mine with Concrete's tirerack-based images.

Almost, but the image needs to be sized in powers of two, and you should use a "road surface" to squeeze the air under the car for more accuracy.

Right-Click - Save As or Save Image, then open in paint, and save it as a .bmp (I used png to keep the black/white pixels intact). Upload that .bmp to the simulator.

I used this format (512x128) for my car and can just barely see where the turbulence ends behind the car... you can really see that there's room for a whole car in the wake. Drafting anyone?
