LRR makes a bigger difference on an EV/hybrid than on a conventional vehicle.

Not only less energy to drive down the road, but more can be recovered when slowing through regen if its not being lost to the tires. Plus, every time you release the accelerator, you stop "burning" energy, so the sooner you can release (to make use of longer coasting ability), the better.

I noticed a good bump in efficiency in the ForkenSwift back when I put worn RE92's on it, and it didn't even have regen.

Eh it's already has LRR tires but they are kind of worn down.

I need the 240v charger. Charging with 120v is about as slow as death. I bought one but it won't be here till Saturday, maybe.

It definitely needs mods.

I wouldn't think new tires will be worth it with only a maximum of 50 miles a day. Slicks are LRR right?

I already have a set of almost new tires for it.
They are holding a piece of German crap up off the sand/dirt.

I stopped at the "full stop" point. It may surprise you to know that $5500 is not something everyone has sitting around in a sock drawer.

I haven't spoken to her about the car's fate. It could be that she and her boyfriend are looking into replacement batteries, or it could be that she's saving up the cash. What I'm certain of is that she was sold a Leaf with a nearly fully depleted battery pack.

I do, I keep it in a safe deposit box.

Supposedly nissan will replace the batt for, but you must outright own the car, not have any kind of lien, against it then they will finance 5,500 for 60 months, so you pay about $100 a month if your credit doesn't suck. I think you have to pay for labor at the time of the install.
I would just buy it, install it my self.

I find that I have more money by not financing everything.

This thing is doing something like 145 mpg equivalent so far. That will work for me.

After about 2 weeks I finally put gas in my wifes car. Only about 8 gallons and my firebird is sitting about 3/4 full.
I think this leaf will work out pretty well.

Is it replacing miles on both cars?



Many people report after getting an EV as a second vehicle that they enjoy the driving experience so much that their "primary" ICE vehicle ends up sitting much of the time.

The leaf is the primary car.
My wife work is about 5 mile drive each way and she works 13 hour days so she works 3 days a week not the usual 5. She drives the leaf one or 2 days a week, then we do all of our around town driving with the leaf.
If all she does is drive her car to and from work 3 times a week then a tank of gas will last about 2 months.
Then some times I would drive her car because it gives a nicer ride than the firebird.
Now I drive the leaf as much as possible.
