There must be something wrong with your data for the Yamaha WR250.
I see not one single entry posting higher than 70 mpgUS. Did you forget to change those bikes from gallons UK or something? I would call their median average on the bell curve more like 61 and 64 mpgUS. And as a highway commuter, they will be very much more shaky and nervous feeling in wind than the CBR250R and cost 30% more. They are a very nice off road dual sport though for those that ride a lot of dirt.

I'm no heavy and commute 1-up (ok, I've done many thousands of kilometers 2-up), but the NC700's main appeal is something else for me. May not sound too convincing for others, but it's the luggage compartment. Which is almost unique among the 'proper' motorcycles (I just can't stomach scooters' riding position and the lack of manual trans and clutch).

Bad that I can't upload pics from my workplace, but I made a shot of the F650CS summary too. There aren't enough data points to draw a proper Bell curve, but it's something that ranges from 44 to 79 US mpg has more entries between 51 and 59. OK, that stray 79 mpg entry (the only one above 68) is mine

(And I'd like to know that being with the 91mpg entry at G650GS! I go contact them...)

edit. only 2 data points with WILD variation, not even enough to ask A 57 and a 125-mpg entry - not convincing at all, and no updates for a year

You are like me. Your lifetime of 78 mpgUS is 20% above the average for your bike.

I see you had a few "real world" 100-mpg tanks lately, congratulations!

At least I had my 90-mpg one too, the best since I have these tires on. I needed to get down from the High Tatras (filled up in Zakopane, Poland) and cross the Low Tatras completely, along with the whole Slovakia, then come home through a part of Hungary. 3 countries for one tank, I liked it

Good point on the WR data. I just used what Fuelly sent me. Did not go back to check the data.

The NC700 is really comfortable sitting in the showroom. I think I would like much more than the stock windscreen for wind protection though. That cavernous storage compartment is really great! Having to lift the rear seat to access the fuel is kind of odd and inhibits packing the rear seat for 1up trips, which will probably not happen often anyway.

The F650 does make great numbers. That should have been added to the list.
