Lol, to each his own, brother. I'll take my 4500 buck Insight over twenty of your 225 dollar Sentras all day long.

I've driven three separate 200 buck cars over the years, and a station wagon that I got for free. One had the handle of a fishing rod for a shifter and manual wipers (as in I stuck my arm out the window with the wiper in it) and I limped them all along for years since I was cheap and broke, but it wasn't really much fun to drive any of them. I saved long and hard for this one, and I'm gonna enjoy the ride!

The sunroof really wasn't a selling feature to me either. I really don't like them, but my wife fell in love with it, and since I make her carpool with me to keep miles off her new Explorer, I have to keep mama happy!

The hood vent is actually a solar panel, which I think I'm gonna move to the rear window and cover up the hole with some kind of small hood scoop. Haven't really figured that one out yet and I'm open to any suggestions!

I'm gonna echo Balto, I think you should keep the solar panel on the hood.

If it didn't look so ridiculous I would have no problem leaving it there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, cause if I move it I have to deal with a three inch hole underneath it!

Haha, look at you and your new attention to aesthetics. I bet you never felt this way about Black Widow!

Hey man, attention to aesthetics was the reason for the black and red paint job, lol! Otherwise I would have left the shiny grill block and wheel skirts

Just click on Ron Burgundy's link, right below Black Widow and Turtle. There are a bunch of pics uploaded, and one close-up of the solar panel.

Thanks .. doesn't look like a bad job of hood integrated solar.

I've been considering ... eventually doing the whole car .. hood , roof, etc.

To remove it .. I think the best you'll be able to do would still have a seam around the edges.. unless you want to design a pattern for the hood .. than the pattern could further conceal any remaining visible seam.

I guess it's a question of time or money ... throw money at it would probably have a body shop replace the hood ... but that will get $$ fast.

If you don't care about the solar panel .. don't bother removing it at all ... just paint over it .. ideally with an added hood design pattern to help conceal what you are painting over... or just try to match the other paint perfectly and accept any remaining seam.
