No. It won't. It can't balance the battery unless all the cells reach 100%. With that being said, 30 hours should be the max you need to charge. It's literally impossible to put more then 6AH into the battery. Going past 30, you are just going to waste electricity. You can't hurt the battery per-se, but waste money, yea. I don't go over 24 hours myself, ever.

In some cases, yes, in most cases, no. My pack during the day when it's 65-75F outside the pack will peak 169-172, at night, when it's ~50F, it will peak 175-179. In both instances it will still fluctuate 1-3 volts. Temperature makes a difference on peak voltage .

Well, I finished charging it and put it back together. It finally quit moving at about 174.5 so I said good enough. I also charged the 12V battery with my new battery tender, and pulled the negative ground for a minute before firing it up. After a minute or so it figured out what had happened, and it showed full bars, and I drove around for about ten minutes getting on it. It never dipped below full bars, but as I was slowing down at my driveway it finally kicked the regen in for a second.
Thanks again Ecky for letting me borrow the charger!

I reset the lifetime mpg on Turtle this morning. I've been meaning to do it ever since I bought the car, but somehow never actually did it until today.
With over 200,000 miles on the car the lifetime mileage was at 49.9 before I reset it. I don't have a clue how bad you would have to drive an Insight for it to be that low, but apparently the three owners ahead of me knew!

Mine is 47.2! From what I have seen, the average is 50-55 with the occasional 60, although rare.

It was pretty easy to reset it, and I really don't care about how the other drivers fared, I just want to see my lifetime mileage!
It surprises me that the lifetime mileage was that low since Turtle has been a Florida car since birth. All three of the previous owners lived in Jacksonville.

I had reset mine shortly after getting it. Lifetime was nearly 60 from the previous owner, and my lifetime is creeping up toward 65 now.
On an unrelated note, I must not have screwed the rear wheel spat fasteners down tightly enough after reassembling my hitch, as when I checked them yesterday morning, three were loose and one was missing. It would have been tragic to have one of the spats fly off on the highway. So, I ordered a few items on eBay:
Tool-less spat fasteners
Honda Insight Spats Rear Wheel Cover Dzus Bolt Kit Fasteners Only 00 06 | eBay
Plastic "rivets"
Auto Car Door Trim Fender 9mm Hole Plastic Rivets Black 50 Pcs | eBay
Plastic push-pins
24 Pcs Black Plastic Push in Bumper Fender Door Rivets Retainer Clip 5mm x 5mm | eBay
Plastic push-ins with philips heads
30 Pcs Plastic Push in Type Fastener Rivets Fender Clips for 5mm Hole | eBay
I've broken who knows how many of the rivets pulling the interior trim off, and some were missing to begin with. These should all be the correct size, but I'll report back in January whether they actually are.

Welcome to the club! It's a pretty small club, but there are some die-hard members for sure!
I've owned Turtle about six months, and it's been one of my favorite cars out of the cars I've owned. And I have owned:
1966 VW Beetle beach cruiser
1971 Olds Cutlass w/350 rocket
1977 Camaro
1989 & 1990 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas
1998 Land Rover Discovery
This car I am still learning to drive after six months. It will test your driving skills, probably not how you're used to being tested, but it definitely tests them!
