Ok, Ben, it's time to come clean. What are you raising on that farm of yours???

Beef cattle? Or soy?

Sorry to hear that.

This same thing happened years ago to my grandfather when they lived on a dairy farm. The story as my dad tells it.

On the farm they had a gas tank and diesel tank side by side for fueling the farm vehicles. It seemed that they were always coming up short on fuel and having an idea of where it might be going had a solution. The next time they had the fuel tanks filled they had them switch tanks. So the gas went into the diesel tank and diesel into the gas tank. After the switch late one night they heard a car rolling into the driveway to the fuel tanks.

A few days later my granddad saw a neighbor walking down the road and slowed to ask "what happened to your car?", the neighbor said "it quit runnin, guess I got some bad gas." Granddad drove on and left him to his walking. It was all that was ever said and he never drove the car again. That was the last gas to come up missing on the farm.

Invest in a camera, or something... that sucks. Was there a lock on the tap or anything? I understand that you'd EXPECT to have security on your own farm, but clearly that wasn't the case.

I love the deisel/gas story

Well what's happening here is...

People steal license plates off cars that are the same model and colour and attach it to their ride. They gas up and run. The clerk takes the plate number down and the other guy get's burned. But of course when you call the cops to say your plate(s) have been ripped off they know it's not you.

So yeah, it has come down to that around here!

Wow that's scary since I have seen a lot of Altimas the same model and color as mine. I have parked next to a car that looks exactly like mine countless times. I guess I will have to add this to my list of things I check for when I enter the vehicle.

Thanks for the heads up

Hey no prob!

I'm going to buy some security stainless screws to fasten my plate to the car. Sad that it's coming to this. :/

Some "darn kids" were messing with our house, so we got a camera to try to catch 'em in the act. After they stopped bothering us, I used the camera to find where some rats were entering our house :

In the long run, if we get more use out of the camera, it will pay for itself in fun (raccoony videos and blair witch fun).

Well, turns out the insurance doesn't cover the contents of any of the buildings, so no insurance money on that one. We don't know if they'll come back, but there's not much we can do besides keep the gates locked and the tanks locked, not that it did much good last time.

Police report? Since the locations of my parent's stores are in very rural areas, everyone knows everyone else. Somehow they caught two break in people which were later taken to court and I think we got most of our money from the damages back.

I'm guessing since you have a farm, your location is also very rural and this might be your way to get back at them.

Best of luck.

Some cameras + zoneminder + some time spent tweaking everything. Ya should be able to set it up such that if an alarm is triggered it'll send your cell phones a text message or somesuch.
