I Found a bunch of ecomodder emails in the spam folder. I marked all as not spam.

I'm bumping this. Thanks for you guys help so far.

We could really use more help though so #1 this stops, but also #2 it doesn't happen again in the future.

Checked mine and no Ecomodder posts in there as of now. I have had this before with GMail but marking one post as "not spam" clears it.

I think that a lot of the problem stems from the fact that EcoModder.com messages tend to superficially resemble spam. I have no trouble at all with Gmail with messages being sent from "EcoModder.Com" <webmaster@ecomodder.com>, for instance, but anything that falls outside of that seems to give Gmail fits. For instance, email that fits the pattern of "firstnameonly" <firstnameonly@ecomodder.com> would tend to be flagged.

I'd also strongly recommend to the Admin team to pass moderation-type messages using PM, either in addition to or instead of using emails. It seems that Gmail's spam filter also classifies moderation messages from here as spam.

Good points there. We do have a number of things we can do to make it less likely Google flags us. (They have guidelines...)

Good idea on the PM idea. First we'd need to offer users a way to opt out of newsletter PM's though, as we do with emailed ones.

I don't think it'd be necessary to send the monthly newsletter as a PM. I was thinking more along the lines of actual admin team -> member communications, such as the one I got not too long ago from Darin. Gmail said that was spam (not a good thing), even though I continue to get automated thread update emails from EcoModder that are somehow not flagged as spam (and that's a good thing, there). Admin team -> member messages should not be blocked in PMs, anyhow.

I think it might help if the default in user CP was not "email me every day" in subscribed threads, just checked my spam folder & there hundreds of them in there.
