I think a lot of people don't really comprehend the difference between the (unattractive, to me) sort of skinny that comes from borderline anorexia, and the slenderness that often comes with being in real good physical shape.
Same principle applies to guys: being 6' and just under 200 lbs with a 32 inch belt size is a heck of a lot different from same height & weight but a 40 inch waist.

Big cars for big butted girls? Too weird for me!
Taking Frank's opening salvo as the majority opinion on the subject of cars, I immediately rushed out and bought a very well kept 1990 VW TD (no I) Jetta with tons of new spare parts for $1600 cash.
The car has 237K miles but the engine has <100K miles. When the car burps, I intend to hook the engine to a Geo Tracker manual tranny (Acme Adapters, of course) and drop them into a Triumph Spitfire frame with a Locost body on it. Then I intend to burn a mix of used tranny fluid and veggie oil since no one is into tranny fluid so it's free.
But a question for VW owners, past or present: Reverse is springloaded, of course, but to get to first gear, I actually have to push just a little into the spring loading. Does anyone know if that spring can be adjusted to leave first gear just outside the loading? Any info will be gratefully appreciated.

GM laying off 510 at 2 Michigan plants that build small cars

General Motors Co. is laying off 510 workers at two Michigan auto plants that build smaller cars in a era of low gas prices, rising demand for SUVs and crossovers

The cars: Buick Verano & Chevy Sonic

Although let's be honest: declining sales could be from other factors too, like competition.

I wouldn't recognize either one if it passed me going the other way, I have no idea what either one looks like. You may have a point there, Metro.

Oops. I meant for this to be a reply in Frank's thread about big car vs. small car sales. Computer's are too hard!
Lemme see if I can figure this out...
