Going to Vienna, Austria
Ok, here's a weird one.
A few weeks ago, I got a call out of the blue from the University in Vienna, Austria.
They want me to come out as part of a conference/brain-storming/workshop/thinktank to help design the next generation of clean vehicles.
All this, just from deciding I didn't want oil-leaking gas-guzzlers in my drive-way? You never know where life will take you, until you put things out there on the line!
More at my blog: On the Road to Vienna….
PS: I'm GOING!

Ben,
Have a great trip!! You're getting some recognition and interest for all your good work well done over the years. I'm convinced you will be one of the smartest people in the room.
My family is from Vienna, were chased out by the - shall we call them über-zealous nationalistic bigots?? in the late 1930's. I have to add though, we're very glad to have been in the good ol' USA ever since.
And yes, the food there is excellent. Not necessarily good FOR you, but GOOOOD! Coffee, chocolate of any type, sweet baked goods. And I'd expect some excellent main dishes too.
And now they're going to have some really advanced fuel efficient automotive technology, thanks to you.

Wow, you're finally getting the credit you deserve! Goot goink, Herr Benjamin!
A few of our friends have been to Vienna and they say it is very beautiful and worth seeing. The closest I've been is on the bypass going south last year, and what I remember are the wind turbines next to the A6 highway going from Bratislava ( N48.038022, E16.904351). It seemed like there are hundreds of them!
Have fun on your trip!

You are going to need a lot of propane tanks to get there!

Nah, he's been stocking up on extension cords, and an int'l plug adaptor. Plus, at 230VAC the batteries should charge twice as fast, right?

Sounds like fun.
If you're into museums, Wien will have plenty (or too many) of those for you - from a technical museum, over cultural stuff to the Freud museum.
The Museums Quartier is the hot place to be - and not just for the museums.
If not, just strolling around in the old city and having a beer on one of the Terassen will also be good fun on a nice day.

I grabbed the Lonely Planet VIENNA pocket travel guide from the library today.
Somebody else mentioned that the technology museum in Vienna is a neat place to visit.
