Well the Fusion is kind of a sled. It could definitely use a belly pan, block heater and a grill block. I think it has great potential especially if you had a SG attached. Very solid ride. With the 6th gear auto the engine RPM is around 1750 at 60 MPH.

The TCU is learning my driving style and will now shift at 2000 rpm. The shift point are about 3-5 mph higher then I'm used to with an automatic but will let the MPH drop about 7 MPH before down shifting.

I picked it up yesterday and drove it 25 miles to the house. 38.3 MPG from a cold start. It was a perfect day with a light wind and 75 degrees. Did not get a chance to put air in the tires. They are rated at 51 PSI but only have 36 PSI in them. Left early this morning with temperature around 43 degrees. Lost about 3.6 MPG before the engine ever warmed up enough to reverse the downward trend. When I pulled into the chocks today it was reading 39.3 MPG.

From here the MPG will plummet. I have 4 days of 5 miles of gridlock to attack each way and the temps are suppose to be highs in the 30's with rain/snow. As slow as this thing warms up it will not be to temp before I get to destination. More to come....

Ten miles today and 45 minutes travel time. AVG MPG has plummeted to 36.5 MPG. Rain/snow and southerners that can drive in it. Tomorrows suppose to be much better but still the car takes about 4 miles to warm up. Ouch.

Finished up today. The total was 35.2 MPG. The high was 39.3 MPG mostly highway with a low dropping to 33.6 MPG for city driving for the tank avg.

I think you can do well with the car with a few simple mods and SG. One thing for sure is I have forgotten how intense eco-driving is. I was really wiped out after the long segments.

Nice numbers. I wonder what could be pulled out of the hybrid fusions.

Good work, Laz. Blew my guess out of the water (I should have known better).

Depending on speed, terrain, and temp, 50-62 MPG.

I'm not sure how the hybrid system works in the Ford but if I applied the same % over EPA that I can get with a Prius it would be around 50 MPG plus or minus.
