Merry Christmas from Chiron Beta Prime (video)On every corner there's a giant metal Santa Claus, who watches over us with glowing red eyes.
They carry weapons and they know if you've been bad or good.
Not everybody's good but everyone tries.

Im probably going to give my second share of blood money to the food bank again.
That's as political as I will safely go.

82 light bulbs later I now have all LED light bulbs. Went from about 4900W to about 10% of that for all of them. Also, got 0.5 gpm aerators for the bathrooms, threw a 1.5gpm shower head in the guest room, a cut off valve in my shower, and got another nest thermostat. Total spent: $240 so far.
Big shoutout to used electronics on ebay and open box items on amazon.
Next: weed sheets, lava rock, and weed and feed before rainy season starts in February.

We got our second COVID check 3-Jan.
Hopefully the $1,400 checks the Biden administration is talking about will be target better at low and middle income families. It is crazy to hand out checks to people in the top 10%.

Hemp does make a good textile, soft and strong.

My mom got a check, griped "why are they sending checks to people like me who don't need them?" I say what about donating it, the local food bank has been getting hammered since last March. "No! I'm keeping it. I might need it later." Sigh.

My parents did the same thing.
They are in the 70's, retired with no debt and few bills. Both the original check and this last one were direct deposited into their bank account and sat there doing nothing to stimulate the economy or help those struggling financially.

I'm in the same cohort. The first plague money check went to a starting a new hobby, but while the pieces was easy, the parts shelves are bare.
The last $200 went to new [used] ties for the Metro.
The contingency plan for some hypothetical 2nd round's new hobby is a 3D printer. What do y'all think? Ender 3 or Anycubic Photon S?
